I have completed and am seeking to publish
my second completed novel, Flakes Bloom. It is approximately 26k words
and consists of eleven chapters. Half of the book takes place in 2006
and the other half is set 20 years earlier. In short, the chapters set
in 2006 follow a Russian girl, Annika, who begins a search to uncover her
family's buried past. The 1986 chapters reveal this elusive past to
the reader. Each current chapter is followed by one from the past and
vice versa, so as Annika's search deepens, the reader lives the life of her
young parents and thus feels that which Annika seeks. The story
explores roots and family bonds and how sometimes solitude and loneliness
can be quite opposite from one another. Below is a link to a preview of the novel. I have included two chapters to give you the flavor of both the 2006 setting and the 1986.
